The material for Rant In E-Minor was recorded at approximately the same time as Arizona Bay, but Hicks' plan for the album was substantially different. He chose to simply focus on performance energy, cycling his routine to alternately build and release. Consequently, Rant...'s tracks are shorter and more intensely focused than those on his previous albums. Probably Hicks' ost explosive recorded work, Rant... broadens both the range of his comedy and his insightful characterizations, while further honing his satirical wit. The album stands as a harmonic convergence of all elements of Hicks' talent.
