Philosophy-- The Best of Bill Hicks is a compilation taken from Hicks' four released albums (his entire recorded output) on Rykodisc: Dangerous (recorded in 1990), Relentless (1992), Arizona Bay (1993), Rant in E Minor (1993). This compilation is intended to have the feel of a cohesive live concert, to creat a complete comedy performance that never happened. The record is organized by themes that Bill was fond of: drugs, politics, sex, religion, and marketing. The goal of this project was to include Bill's funniest and most thought-provoking material while staying within these themes.
