Kennedy's

Last week, to celebrate the annual Mother's Day holiday, Warner Music Group/Cordless Recordings' artist Kennedy released "Your Mama," the first video from his upcoming debut album "Kennedy For President." The video, an homage to all of the beautiful and alluring mothers everywhere, is currently featured on the home page of YouTube and has drawn over 500,000 plays in the span of 72 hours. The digital-only 2-track audio single "Your Mama" is released today and features the title track and the b-side "Let's Get Def". "Let's Get Def" was featured in the cinema classic "American Pie: The Naked Mile" and has been one of Kennedy's most requested tracks by his online fans. The full length album, "Kennedy For President", will be released later this summer and features 3 tracks produced by the UK Garage veteran and DirtyPop impresario DJ Sticky. There are also tracks produced by up-and-coming UK super-producers Count De Money. Earlier today reporters were allowed to speak to Kennedy at a short press conference. When Kennedy was asked "Who's loving your mama?", he simply replied, "I am!" and then abruptly left the building.

A Bit about Kennedy: Born Jack Kennedy to a father named John Wayne, Kennedy is a true American. Clawing his way out of the pop culture abyss Kennedy is, songwriter, M.C., rock star, gigolo. Equal parts raconteur and provocateur, Kennedy is the consummate showman: a bit of PT Barnum, a dash of Woody Allen, a spoonful of Mark Mothersbaugh and a heaping helping of Dirk Diggler.

Kennedy has quickly become a favorite among LA's hipster illuminati. In LA's trendy Silverlake district, Kennedy can be found sharing the stage with Fiona Apple, Jon Brion, Elliot Smith, Diamond Nights, Tenacious D, Ozomatli, The Black Keys, Juliana Hatfield, Jimmy Eat World, and many other somewhat talented artists.

After being kicked out of L.A.'s Silversun Pickups for setting the singer's sweater on fire, Kennedy was selected to open for Jon Brion at Café Largo in Los Angeles. Jon invited Kennedy to record at his studio with engineer Tom Biller (Kanye West, Fiona Apple, Sean Lennon.) The name-dropping doesn't end there. Kennedy was spotted by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor) while supporting Bloc Party and Elefant in London. Gordon demanded that Kennedy record at his London studio. Two tracks were recorded in one day and the rest is history. Gregg Alexander (New Radicals. Sophie Ellis Bextor, Santana) discovered his music in a café in Santa Monica and immediately flew him to London to record three tracks at Mayfair Studios with engineer George Shilling (My Bloody Valentine, Blur, Soup Dragons, Primal Scream.)

Gliss and Cordless

Los Angeles indie darlings, Gliss, have joined the Cordless Recordings family.

"Sexy, mysterious and often compelling, Gliss do right what so many hipster bands have recently done wrong: They've given substance as much thought as they have style." -Alternative Press

They will be taking the stage every Monday at Spaceland in Los Angeles for the month of May.  Their last residency was unexpectedly cut short when Billy Corgan rushed Gliss to Europe to open for his summer tour on 72 hours notice.  You can also hear Gliss' cover of "Rhinoceros" on The Smashing Pumpkins' Tribute Album to be released by MySpace this summer.

Their album, "Love The Virgins," will be available soon.
